ABOUT ShockART

MISSION STATEMENT

ShockART was founded in an extremely turbulent time in Balkan history, a time when individuals and organizations wishing to support civic values, were marginalized and silenced.

The mission of ShockART is to contribute to the making of a society which shall be characterized by active citizens, who have a strong value system, and who can impose their demands on the state, in order to make it strong and stable – and get the state to work according to adequate principles and policies, rather than private interests of individuals in power.

ShockART is focused on media production and through numerous TV shows and series, documentaries, campaigns, debates, talk shows, round tables, multimedia exhibitions, encourages thinking.

Through projects for strengthening the rule of law and protecting human rights, promoting social inclusion and gender equality, especially vulnerable children and women, working with youth, protecting cultural diversity and ethnic tolerance, ShockART deals with democratization issues and the reform of Serbian society.

The aim of ShockART projects is to produce thought provoking media programs\stories that challenge citizens to be engaged in political and cultural processes and to improve the awareness of citizen’s responsibility within a democratic society.

Through the implementation of the projects, ShockART gained enormous experience in project management and established valuable contacts with all relevant stakeholders.

The ShockART founder Olivera Miloš Todorović,  with thirty years of experience in the media, together with their associates, experts in the field of social protection, justice, human rights, with experience and knowledge in organization of varied activities and in the implementation of media related projects, guarantees that ShockART’s projects will be implemented on schedule, independently and efficiently.

ShockART has experience in different locations throughout Serbia, Kosovo, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and South East and Western Europe on both production and promotion of documentaries program.

ShockART is non-government organization registered 11. november 2001 in Belgrade formed with a clear purpose to promote basic democratic principles and unite intellectuals and progressive individuals to initiate change in our society.
