Life Above The Law

Through 4 half-hour television shows and 12 video clips, created on the basis of recorded material from discussions, which were broadcast by television and posted on social networks, students improved their knowledge in the field of prevention and protection from violence. They understood the obligations of citizens when recognizing violence in their environment, but also how they should act as professionals, once becoming an official part of the prevention and protection system.

Language and Reality

In the documentary Language and Reality, representatives of the professional public, as well as language practitioners themselves, talk about the important role that language plays in forming opinions and attitudes in society.

65 plus

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic a state of emergency was declared in Serbia. As of March 18th 2020 all male and female citizens aged over 65 were banned from leaving their home. Were there manipulations with fear, guilt, that they really didn’t know in the end whether they were protected or mistreated?

Unfinished Symphony

In a time when we are overwhelmed by prejudices prompted by disruptive local politics, when the media also hinder the establishment of cooperation in the region, the importance of the project “Unfinished Symphony / Regional Children’s Philharmonic,” as an example of good cooperation and need for communication, is even greater.

The Lighthouse

The overall goal is to contribute to strengthening the values of rule of law and legal reform in Serbia by advocating for effective implementation of the adopted Law on prevention of domestic violence. The project objectives are: to facilitate access to justice for victims of domestic violence by integrated response and prompt action of state institutions; to raise awareness and suggest models of the victims’ economic empowerment by increasing their employment potential and economic independence from their abusers; to contribute to the adequate media reporting and citizens’ attitude and behavior towards women and particularly crimes against women, so that victims receive effective support, but not condemnation from authorities and local community.

I miss my childhood

The number of children with conduct problems is increasing. The vast majority of them have been neglected, suffering from difficulties in emotional-social development, but mainly it is not detected by their immediate surroundings – as a consequence, they themselves are considered almost solely responsible for their maladjustment.

The project aims to improve socialization and inclusion of children with conduct problems.

Below the Surface

The documentary series shows different stories of 5 women who are in a marginalised social position, the right of women with children to financial social support – and how complaints mechanisms that are part of administrative procedures operate for 1. women in divorce proceedings, 2. women as criminal offenders, 3. women as victims in civil proceedings related to domestic violence, 4. women in Mother’s house 5. women with cancer.

SOFA/Access to Justice

The project includes production and broadcast of 8 TV shows – eight interviews with justice professionals, and Public debates at eight faculties of universities in four cities (Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad and Kragujevac). Apart from viewing programmes, this will be a chance for students of law, international affairs, psychology, social work and other related fields to develop in-depth understanding of how judicial reform can help children access their rights in vulnerable situations.

Connecting

Organized by the Law Clinic on Discrimination at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, the documentary “Connection / Connection” was presented, dealing with the similarities and differences between the attitudes of students at Belgrade and Stanford University in America, which provoked and challenged further thinking of students of the Faculty of Law, Architecture and Criminal Police academy.
